Is there an easy way to turn a ps3 into a dvr? will it ruin my ps3 for gaming?

There is no way to turn your PS3 into a DirecTV DVR.
Even if you could do this, you probably wouldn’t be able to use the PS3 for gaming while it was running the DVR software.
Personally, the idea of shoving a DVR and game console into a single box is a silly idea. The whole point I got a DVR in the first place was so I didn’t have to stop playing my game when my show came on, right? Leave them as separate devices.
