Baby Bear asked:

Are the slim HD compatible (components or HDMI)?
Graphics?
Sound?
Online?
BTW I have a PS3 but i like the new PS2 they are so cute!
Another reason why i want one its because when i play PS2 games on my PS3, its a little blurry. Even when i scale it using HDMI.
Will it make a difference if i just get the slim?

the ps2 slim aint HD so it might look blurry on your HD TV

i think theres no point wasting money on a ps2. just stick to your ps3

PS2 does not support HDMI but it does support progressive scan using component cables which will improve the quality on an HD set incredibly. Chances are you own the PS3 that supports software emulation rather then hardware acceleration so an actual PS2 would be superior to playing them on PS3.

why would u buy a ps2 its a dead system i heard spring 09 ps2 is sent to the graveyard and there will be no more games for it anymore ps3 is the future and i would stick with that i have the fat ps2 by the way and the 60gb ps3

To answer this first question, no. The ps2 slim’s of any model do not support any HD components or HDMI. They only support the composite (Red, Yellow, and White) cables. If you want to get something that can you can get a ps3 or a 360.

Graphics?

The graphics are going to be almost the exact same as the old models, mostly they have just gotten rid of little bugs, and glitches on the ps2. Graphics are not noticeably changed.

Sound?

Sound on this is going to be the exact same as the older ps2. The only thing that will effect this is if you hook it up to surround sound speakers, or something like that.

Online?

There has been a few changes with the ps2′s online features. Mostly it is a lot less laggy than the older one’s. Also it has changed a little bit on how it sends info to the online network. Basically the same but faster.

BTW I have a PS3 but i like the new PS2 they are so cute!

To this last question, yes it will. It does help it alot to play any ps2 games on any kind of ps2 then the ps3. The ps3′s compatibility for the ps2 games is not perfect. Ever since they stopped making the 60 gig ps3′s, which had the very best ps2 emulation for the ps3 it has been seen that there are some problems regarding quality of pic on the ps3. One thing that you can try is to change the way your t.v. hdmi pic is set up. But that will most likely get annoying very fast to change it back and forth, for the ps2 and ps3 settings.

Ok well i hope that this has helped you with your questions, and last but not least, i suggest that you spend the extra money and get a ps2. I myself have the latest slim model and it is excellent! I have not had any problems with it. The only other thing that you could do is sell your ps2 games and get them for the ps3. Thanks for all the great questions, let me know what you decide. Thanks
