What do the Cell Processors do for the PS3?
Do the Cell Processors contribute to overall frame rates in PS3 games? If so then how much difference does it make?
Thanks for your answers!

The Cell is the central processor for the PS3. It handles all the non-graphics calculations for the games or whatever is running at the time. The PS3 has a separate processor that’s dedicated to rendering the graphics, not the Cell.
Originally the Cell was also going to be the graphics processor for the PS3, but Sony had trouble getting it work well enough, so they put in a dedicated graphics processor.
Overall, the graphics processor is the bottleneck in the PS3, so it really doesn’t matter how powerful the Cell is or isn’t.
