What is that rectangular black clip on the Nokia USB cable for?

I’ve had 2 Nokia phones and both have a black rectangular plastic “clip” of about 1″ x 1/2″ that can slide along the length of the cable. Does anyone know what it is for?

its so you can clip it to another cable it you want to keep it somewhere handy but still plguged in. alot of people like to leave the USB cables plugged in since many USB ports are on the back of the computer, and then leave the business end of the cable on the desk, but if you dont want it to fall, you can clip it to another cable, or something else.
