when using converter to convert ps2 controller to ps3 will it work for a guitar controller?

I don’t want to spend more money on a guitar for the beatles game so i was wondering if i buy one of those ps3 converters that allow you to use ps2 controllers on ps3 could that allow me to use my ps2 controller?

You probably can, as long as the part that you plug in is the same on the guitar and the controller.

My answer is actually the reverse.
I had guitar hero 3 for the PS3 (60gb backwards compatible one).
I bought a few of the PS2 version guitar hero games…..the PS3 Guitar Controller will not work with the PS2 games. Apparently the ps3 shuts off the usb ports when playing ps2 games.
In theory the ps2 controller should work as the usb ports are still powered when playing the ps3 game.
